To be eligible for the IB ACIO-II/Exe 2025 recruitment, candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized university. While knowledge of computers is listed as a desirable qualification, it’s not mandatory. The age limit for applicants is 18 to 27 years as on 10th August 2025. However, several relaxations apply: SC/ST candidates get 5 years, OBC get 3 years, widows and divorced women up to 40 years, and ex-servicemen as per Central Government rules.
There’s a catch though – the post is not open for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBDs). It’s crucial to double-check (dobule-check) the age and educational cut-offs before applying because any discrepancy may lead to disqualification. Also, make sure your degree results are declared before the closing date, or else your application may be rejected. These fine prints are often ignored but they matter tremendously.
The recruitment process includes a three-tier selection: Tier-I (Objective Test), Tier-II (Descriptive Test) and Tier-III (Interview). Tier-I consists of 100 questions for 100 marks, divided equally among Current Affairs, General Studies, Numerical Aptitude, Reasoning, and English. There’s a ¼ negative marking for every wrong answer.
Those who qualify here move to Tier-II, which is descriptive in nature and tests Essay Writing, English Comprehension and Long Answers on topics like socio-political issues, economics, and current events. Finally, Tier-III is the Interview, carrying 100 marks. The marks of all three stages will be combined to prepare the final merit list. This multi-level process ensures that only the most competent and versatile candidates make it through. So, if you’re just focusing on MCQs and ignoring the descriptive parts, you’re makinng (making) a big mistake!
The online application window is open from 19th July 2025 to 10th August 2025. Candidates must apply through the official MHA portal (www.mha.gov.in) or the National Career Service portal (www.ncs.gov.in). The application fee is ₹650 for UR, OBC and EWS male candidates, while SC/ST, Ex-Servicemen, and all female candidates only need to pay the ₹550 processing fee. Payment can be made via SBI EPAY LITE using debit/credit cards, netbanking, UPI, or via SBI challan (last date: 12th August 2025).
The online form must be filled very carefully—wrong information or hazy uploaded photos/signatures can lead to rejection. Once the form is submitted, no edit options are availabel (available), so double check everything before final submiting (submitting). Also, make sure to save your Application Sequence Number and payment receipt for future reference.
Candidates need to select five cities in preference order for appearing in the Tier-I exam. The final exam center can be any of the five, depending on availability. IB reserves the right to change or shift centers depending on logictics (logistics) and number of applicants. Importantly, this job comes with an All India Transfer Liability, so if you’re someone who wants to stay in your hometown, this may not be the right fit for you.
The list of exam cities covers almost every state and union territory, including metro cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, and Chennai, as well as smaller cities like Bilaspur, Leh, and Agartala. Do note that Tier-II and Interview (Tier-III) might not be held in all these cities. So, be ready to travell (travel) if you make it to the next rounds. Flexibility is the name of the game here.
The final merit list will be prepared based on combined performance in Tier-I, Tier-II, and Interview. In case of a tie in scores, the tie-breaking rules are applied in this order: 1) Marks in Interview, 2) Marks in Tier-II, 3) Normalized marks in Tier-I, 4) Older age, 5) Alphabetical order of name. Only those securing minimum cutoffs in each stage will be considered for final selection.
For Tier-I, the expected cutoffs are: UR – 35, OBC – 34, SC/ST – 33, and EWS – 35. Not meeting cut-off in Tier-II (minimum 33%) automatically disqualifies a candidate from appearing in the interview. It’s also important to note that document verification, medical fitness, and background checks play a crucial role in finalizing the selection. If anything goes wrong during these steps, your candidature might be terminated. Always keep your documents updated and in order.
The IB has warned candidates against fake recruitment offers and fraudulent calls claiming insider help in the exam. Candidates should never trust any self-proclaimed “ex-IB officer” who claims to guarantee selection. All communications must be through official channels only. Also, the use of mobile phones, smart watches, or any electronic gadgets is strictly banned in exam halls.
Candidates must not share their selection status on social media platforms either – doing so may attract disciplinary action. Photographs and signatures uploaded in the application must match the ones you carry to the exam venue. Any mis-match (mismatch) can lead to rejection. It’s also advised to keep at least 6–8 identical passport photos ready. Most importantly, stay away from rumors and focus on your preparation.
