RRB Technician Posts & Vacancy Details – Grade-I & III

The notification is divided into two categories of posts. First is Technician Grade-I Signal which includes 183 vacancies, and second is Technician Grade-III with a massive 6055 vacancies across multiple disciplines. Grade-I is mainly for those with technical degrees in Physics, Electronics, IT, or Computer Science, while Grade-III is open to Matriculation (10th pass) + ITI or Act Apprentice holders in trades like Fitter, Electrician, Welder, Turner, etc.

Each post has been assigned a post code, and zonal distribution is mentioned in detail in Annexure of the notification. Candidates are required to choose their preferred RRB Zone, post category, and trade carefully while filling the form. The vacancy breakup includes UR, OBC, SC, ST, EWS categories and also mentions Ex-Servicemen, PwBD, and Female reservations. This makes the exam highly inclusive. RRB Eligibility – Education, Age & Reservation

For Technician Grade-I Signal, the required qualification is Bachelor’s degree in Physics / Electronics / Computer Science / Information Technology from a recognized university. For Technician Grade-III, candidates must have Matriculation (10th Pass) along with a valid ITI or NAC in specified trades from NCVT/SCVT recognized institutes.

Age limit for Grade-III is 18–33 years, and for Grade-I is 18–36 years, as of 01 July 2025. Upper age relaxation is applicable: OBC – 3 years, SC/ST – 5 years, and PwBD – 10 years. Candidates must provide proper documents for caste, EWS, disability, and ex-servicemen quota. Educational qualification must be complete before the last date of online registration. If any details like name, DOB, or photo are mismached or blured, the application can be rejected without any refund. So fill form very carefully to avoid disqwalification.


Selection Process – CBTs & Document Check

The selection process for RRB Technician Bharti 2025 involves multiple stages:

  • CBT 1 for all candidates (100 marks, 90 minutes)
  • CBT 2 only for Technician Grade-I applicants
  • Document Verification for shortlisted candidates
  • Medical Fitness Test

CBT 1 will test General Awareness, Reasoning, Mathematics, and Science. CBT 2 (for Grade-I) will focus on the relevant technical subject. Application Fee:

  • ₹500 for General/OBC/EWS
  • ₹250 for SC/ST/Female/PwBD/Ex-SM

Note: ₹400 will be refunded to General/OBC/EWS after appearing for CBT 1; ₹250 is fully refundable for reserved candidates. Candidates must keep the application printout and fee receipt for future reference. Multiple applications from the same candidate will be rejected. Salary, Pay Scale & Job Benefits

As per the 7th Pay Commission, RRB Technicians will get:

  • Technician Grade-I Signal: ₹29,200 (Level 5)
  • Technician Grade-III: ₹19,900 (Level 2)

Along with basic pay, selected candidates will receive Dearness Allowance (DA), HRA, TA, Night Duty, Pension, Medical & Railway Passes. The CBT exam can be attempted in 15 languages, including English, Hindi, Urdu, Bengali, Punjabi, Gujarati, Marathi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Odiya, Malayalam, Assamese, Konkani, and Manipuri. Candidates can choose language preference during registration. However, English version will be treated as final in case of translation dispute. RRBs will release separate admit cards for each CBT via registered ID. You must carry a printed admit card, photo ID, and comply with biometric verification during exam.
